Kosher Meals On Wheels

Kosher Meals on Wheels provides a choice range of delicious, nutritious, affordable kosher meals home-delivered across the Greater Syracuse area, prepared under the supervision of the Syracuse Va’ad Ha’ir in Menorah Park’s kitchens.

Who

Are you 60 years old or older and wish to observe Kosher or Halal?

Are you unable to shop on a permanent or temporary basis, or prepare meals for yourself because of illness, injury, disability, or other limitations?

Are you recuperating at home, or can’t shop because of inclement weather, or just need some help to tide you over a difficult period?

What

Friendly volunteers bring Kosher Meals on Wheels right to your home, with delivery sets that include 2 meals providing 2/3 of the daily nutritional needs of an older adult, with juice, milk, and dessert. Medical diets are available as ordered by your physician.

The Kosher Meals on Wheels Coordinator performs regular needs assessments in your home and will provide information and link you to get other benefits, to the Syracuse Jewish Family Service continuum of care management, and to the County social services safety net.

When

Deliveries are made each week between 11 am and 1 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. We can supply up to seven days’ worth of freshly made meals per week in multiple deliveries, according to your choice. We request a day’s notice for any changes to the delivery schedule or number of delivery sets ordered.

How much

Clients are asked to make a voluntary contribution to help defray the cost of meals ($9 per delivery set). No client is turned away due to an inability or unwillingness to contribute.
