M-Power U (MPU) Brain Power Community

A learning community for early memory loss

What Is The MPU Brain Power Community?

Established in 2017, the MPU Brain Power Community consists of a weekly 4-hour session facilitated by SJFS’s brain health professionals. Participants learn practical skills to help with early memory loss in a friendly and supportive setting with a group of peers. The Brain Power Community highlights our holistic approach to memory care through memory and cognitive training, coping strategies, lifestyle skills, physical exercise, and educational presentations, as well as periodic trips to local cultural venues. Mondays from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Pre-screening required.

How Can The MPU Brain Power Community Help?

Develop a supportive network with others experiencing similar changes

Learn strategies to strengthen or compensate for memory loss

Learn how to change your lifestyle to be more “brain healthy”

Learn healthy coping strategies

Become educated about other community resources

Receive educational and support services for your family members and care partners

Why is MPU Brain Power Community Important?

Cognitive changes and early memory loss can be very overwhelming and isolating. Central to the MPU program is the introduction of memory enhancement activities, compensatory strategies for memory loss, peer support, exercise, and socialization to address the social, emotional, and physical changes that can come along with early memory loss.

Cost

The MPU Brain Power Community is $45 per session (lunch included) with scholarships available if there is a financial need. A discounted price is available if purchasing multiple sessions at one time (6 sessions for $250 or 13 sessions for $520).
