Volunteer Opportunities
Why Volunteer at SJFS?
Syracuse Jewish Family Service (SJFS) is a not-for-profit human service agency that is dedicated to helping individuals and families in the Jewish and general communities of Central New York maximize their self-determination, realize their potential and live with dignity.
As a SJFS volunteer, you will work alongside a passionate and dedicated team who truly care about the people we work with. You would be a valued member of our team of staff and interns, with many opportunities or growth and varied experiences. We have a variety of volunteer experiences available to those looking for rewarding and fun volunteer opportunities.
Ways to Volunteer:
Depending on what you would like to get out of our volunteer experience, we have a task for you! Here are a few examples of the experience possible with our agency:
• Joining the Arts & Minds Volunteer Corps
• Friendly visiting with nursing home residents
• Delivering/ organizing meals with Kosher Meals on Wheels
These volunteer opportunities can be done as an individual, group, or service learning experience as well as community service.
