Kosher Meals on Wheels
What is Kosher Meals on Wheels?
Kosher Meals on Wheels provides a choice range of delicious, nutritious, affordable kosher meals home-delivered across the Greater Syracuse area, prepared under the supervision of the Syracuse Va’ad Ha’ir in Menorah Park’s kitchens. SJFS is the only local provider of home-delivered Kosher meals.
Friendly volunteers bring Kosher Meals on Wheels right to your home, with delivery sets that include 2 meals providing 2/3 of the daily nutritional needs of an older adult, with juice, milk, and dessert. Medical diets are available as ordered by your physician.
The Kosher Meals on Wheels Coordinator performs regular needs assessments in your home and will provide information and link you to get other benefits, to the Syracuse Jewish Family Service continuum of care management, and to the County social services safety net.
Deliveries are made each week between 11 am and 1 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. We can supply up to seven days’ worth of freshly made meals per week in multiple deliveries, according to your choice. We request a day’s notice for any changes to the delivery schedule or number of delivery sets ordered.
Meals are funded in part by a grant from Onondaga County ALTCS, NYSOFA, and ACL. Meals are also funded through private pay, donations, and fund raising.

Success Story
The global pandemic has increased isolation and loneliness among the elderly. For some, the KMOW driver is the only person they will see or talk to all day. L is a 96yo Jewish person in the community who can has lived independently for many years. L’s visiting daughter was concerned that L was not eating properly and they decided to “try out” KMOW once or twice. After the first few deliveries, L agreed to get meals delivered regularly 3x week. This has allowed L to receive healthy, Kosher meals. It also gives L’s out of town family peace of mind that L is eating properly and someone is making face-to-face contact multiple times a week.
