Cognitive Wellness Learning Groups

Cognitive Wellness Learning Groups

Have fun exercising your brain in a social, relaxed atmosphere while sharpening memory, reading, writing and language skills

What Are Cognitive Wellness Learning Groups?

The brain health experts at SJFS host weekly Cognitive Wellness learning groups, where participants will discuss and learn about interesting topics. These topics range from biographies, geography, and science, to the weather, animals, sports, and history. These groups offer the opportunity to learn something new, or to recall information from long ago and discuss those memories with others.

How Can Cognitive Wellness Learning Groups Help?

These groups are held throughout the Menorah Park Campus and are tailored to the needs of residents. They offer residents the chance to socialize, learn, and discuss topics in a supportive and fun environment.

Why Are Cognitive Wellness Learning Groups Important?

Maintaining functioning cognitive skills is an important aspect of aging. It can be challenging to find opportunities to practice and improve cognitive skills, so SJFS brings these groups to residents who have the desire to do so in a group environment. In addition to the need to maintain cognitive health, many older adults still have a desire for learning, but opportunities for this can be lacking in long-term care settings. We bring the learning to them!
